Christmas in Pemberton

Published on

Pemberton was made for Christmas. When you imagine a picturesque mountain town this is about as close as you can get – snow-capped mountains, frozen lakes and a warm, welcoming community.

Christmas here is all about family and friends, as well as getting outside and enjoying all of the activities the area has to offer!

We asked our local agents to tell us their favourite things about the festive season in Pemberton, so whether you’re just visiting or thinking of making a permanent move, here’s what you can expect:

A friendly smile on every corner

Pemberton is one of those towns where everyone knows everyone. If you’re going to the shops or just popping out for a stroll, you will no doubt bump into someone you recognise.

During the holidays you will see more familiar faces as those who left return to spend Christmas with their families.

If you are new to town you will find that everyone is welcoming and you will soon make new friends. Locals here are some of the warmest people and will happily give advice on things to do and places to see.

Lots of fun events

There are lots of fun events happening throughout the festive period including the Christmas Bazaar, the Small Business Dinner and Dance, and the Pemberton Gingerbread Project.

You will also find more events throughout winter in both Pemberton and neighbouring Whistler, find out more about what’s going on HERE.

Snow, and lots of it

With winter comes cold weather, and with cold weather there is bound to be snow! This beautiful white blanket falling on a festively lit village, transforms the area into a scene from a snow globe.

The natural beauty of the area is one of its biggest draws and, while it is close to one of the world’s largest ski resorts, it remains quiet and untouched. This is the perfect place for those looking to spend a Christmas away from the crowds.

Everyone getting outside

Pemberton has an active community and tons of recreational activities to keep you occupied all year round.

You will find everything from fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, to backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. You can check out all the activities on offer in Pemberton on the tourism Pemberton website.
