Local Pemberton Events You Can’t Miss This Summer

Pemberton Summer Events

Pemberton is quickly becoming a must-visit destination when in the Sea to Sky corridor. And, it’s no wonder why. With its beauty, world class outdoor activities and its amenities– it truly is a unique place. If you’re planning a visit to Pemberton this summer, or better yet, you live there, there is no question that there is plenty to do and see. These are just a few of our suggestions for must-attend events in Pemberton.

Farmers Market

Every Friday from 3-6PM during the Summer

No town would be complete without a traditional farmers market, and Pemberton is no exception. Each week the farmers, artisans and community members alike come together to celebrate the diverse region. It’s full of music, food, locally grown goods and many more things that can only be best enjoyed while you’re there. Better yet, this event takes place under the iconic ‘Barn’ located in the centre of town – making it not only a great way to meet new people and buy presents for yourself (admit it, we all do it!) but it has that sense of nostalgia as well.

Outdoor Movie under the Stars

July 25th @ 8PM

Nothing sums up Pemberton like sitting under the stars taking in the views, enjoying a movie with 1,200 of your friends. This annual event takes place at the Big Sky Golf Course and is something for all ages. It offers a chance for you to get creative with your outdoor seating (lawn chairs, blankets, inflatable boats – we’ve seen it all!) and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with the classic elements of cinema; popcorn. The event is by donation, which goes to a local charity each year, and there are vendor snacks available to purchase – just don’t forget your bug spray. The only thing that we find hard is trying to pay attention to the movie while the stunning views of Mount Currie as the sunsets steals your focus!

Pemberton Slow Food Cycle

August 18th @ 9AM

We don’t care what anyone says, a Sunday Cycle is miles better than a Sunday Drive; 25 miles better to be exact. This event is a good excuse to slow down and take in the sights, sounds and smells of summer. Grab your cruiser and start in Pemberton’s town centre (registration is only $5 a person or $20 per family) and enjoy the simple things in life as you pedal back through time. Cruise down the beautiful Pemberton Meadows, stopping in and visiting farms, chatting to locals and seeing various artisan stands along the way. This truly is a celebration of food, farmers and biking – just don’t forget your wallet (or basket!), as there are plenty of local goods and food to purchase along the way!

Pemberton Barn Dance

September 21st @ 7PM

Ask any local, and they will tell you this is the event of the season! Its classic setting, under the outdoor lights and beautiful wooden beams of ‘The Barn’ in downtown, sets the tone for this truly authentic event. It features great, local live music, dancing and of course the odd pair of cowboy boots! Use a little liquid courage and jump into the line dancing or sit back and make new friends over some fantastic local food. This event is a great way to get connected to Pemberton’s roots and enjoy a nice night out on the town!
